David Billups is the Managing Director of Insight NDT, forming the company in 1997 with Neil Browne.
Prior to forming Insight NDT, David acquired a wealth of practical experience working as a Foundry man at OH Steel Founders & Engineers Ltd, which further developed his knowledge of castings.
In 1981, David began to explore the concept of Radiographic Inspection, working with high energy X-Ray machines, Linear Accelerators and Betatrons. This knowledge was cemented in the SNT-TC-1A Level II qualification which David achieved in 1983 and maintains to this day.
Today, David specialises in the radiographic interpretation of a myriad of castings, ranging from small medical prosthetics to larger complex castings in excess of 16 tonnes.
Neil Browne is the Managing Director of Insight NDT, forming the Company in 1997 with David Billups.
Neil began his radiography career in 1984 as a Radiographer for Precision Cast Parts, where he worked on prosthetic components for the medical industry and larger castings for the aviation industry. During this time, Neil acquired a breadth of knowledge and experience of radioactive isotopes such as cobalt, Iridium, working on high profile jobs for companies such as Rolls Royce. He continued his career at Sellafield, gaining experience in the nuclear industry, and at William Cook NDT. Neil gained his SNT-TC-1A Level II qualification in 1987 and achieved PCN Level II IN 1991, and maintains both to this day.

Chris Cowen is the Technical Director at Insight NDT. With over 10 years of practical experience in the industry, Chris oversees everything from tender stage to final inspection, ensuring operations run in an efficient and timely manner.
Chris achieved his SNT-TC-1A Level II and PCN Level II in 2008 which he maintains to this day. Chris works very closely with our customers, ensuring good working relationships are maintained by daily correspondence. He is also responsible for final sentencing of radiographs, and works closely with our trainee radiographers to ensure they are adequately trained to meet the standards of Insight NDT.
Prior to working with Insight NDT, Chris’ background was primarily in I.T, a subject in which he is extremely knowledgeable. He has developed the IT infrastructure of Insight NDT, creating a database system which provides the main framework of the business.
Chris is a member of the American Society for Non Destructive Testing.
Ann Browne joined Insight NDT in 2016 as Accounts Manager and is the first point of contact for customers and is a key player in daily business operations.
Richard Billups has been working at Insight NDT since 2008, progressing from Trainee Radiographer to Works Manager, where he works closely with employees to ensure tight deadlines are adhered to and standards of quality are maintained. Richard is always on hand to offer support, advice and motivation to the workforce.
Richard has recently achieved SNT-TC-1A Level II.
Laura Edwards has been with Insight NDT since 2011 and is a key player in daily business operations and has recently progressed to Quality Manager.
She is responsible for maintaining and improving our ISO 9001:2008 and ISO/IEC 17025: 2005 accredited Quality Management System and conducts regular internal audits to ensure our operations remain effective and compliant. She assists with everything from tender stage to final completion of radiographic reports.
Laura has a Bsc (Hons) in Internet Computing and has recently achieved SNT-TC-1A Level II.
Luke Billups joined Insight NDT in 2013 as Business Development Manager and is responsible for the generation of new business; assisting with quality aspects of the business and currently training to become a radiation protection supervisor.
Luke is constantly researching new business avenues, and is currently exploring other NDT disciplines.
Luke has a BA (Hons) in Business Studies and previously worked for Norton Cast Products as an Operations Analyst.
